          Geronimo Stilton ran the Rodent's Gazette. It was his birthday today but it was a terrible start. He started off with his bath the soap went into his eyes so he couldn't see the bar of soap on the floor and slipped and crashed on his tail. The children, Anne, Julian, Dick and George who was a girl but she did not respond if anyone called her Georgina, had planned to go to the moorlands for their vacations. And were discussing about it. They had to go with Mr. Luffy who was probably expected by the adults to keep an eye on the children but Julian thought that he’ll forget about them once he settled down in his tent and would be lost in himself all day. They had started their journey to the moors after a few days and had found that Mr. Luffy was a horrible driver. Georgina who would rather be called George was waiting with Timothy, her dog for her cousins, Julian, Dick, and Anne to arrive at Kirrin cottage.  George’s mother was ill. At their house was a sour-faced cook, Mrs. Stick. Mrs. Stick also owned a dog named Tinker who George called Stinker and had a son, Edgar. The three of them had arrived and along with George had gone to the beach and when they returned a shocking news awaited them. George’s father and mother had gone to the hospital because of her mother’s bad health. The Sticks were a trouble for these children but her father refused to fire them in the absence of his wife and asked Anne, Julian and Dick to go to their home without George and Tim if they wished.
